Jolly Hockey Sticks ?
Hampshire county councillors have voted 18 to 2 in favour of plans for a new international standard Hockey Arena disregarding local concerns over noise and light pollution. The centre is planned for Warblington School and includes two all weather pitches providing a resource for local children as well as a base for Havant Hockey Club. There are 14 floodlights planned for pitches raising concerns amongst residents that light pollution at night could affect them along with the incessant noise of smashing hockey sticks which one resident at a recent meeting described as sounding like "gunshots"
Another local begged to differ arguing 'If Havant Hockey Club is forced to move out of Havant it would be a tragedy for children in the borough".
Where do you stand on this ? I guess it might be a little disturbing but do we really want to loose the club and the status it brings to Havant ? Be interested to hear others views.
