By vw_sarah | Wednesday, August 25, 2010, 19:42
It was GCSE Results day yesterday for all schools up and down the country. So I went to visit Park Community School, Warblington School and Staunton Park Community School in Havant to ask about the exam results.

Park Community School
At Park Community School, Middle Park Way, Havant,
There were plenty of pupils coming and going all looking very pleased. I managed to stop a few excited pupils in the corridor and asked them if they got the results they wanted - They all were very happy and pleased they achieved good grades.
I spoke to Mr Carter, the school's deputy head and he was very pleased with the pupils results. The school has retained its high standard for exams again this year with 94% of pupils achieving 5 high grade passes of grade C and above - Also 43% of the schools pupils achieved 5 high grade passes including maths and English which meets the governments all important Gold Standard,
52% of year 10 pupils who took their GCSEs early have passed with a C grade or higher, which is an incredible result for the school!
Member of staff Miss Sue Walker (Pupil Support & Guidance) was also happy to speak to me and was really pleased with this years GCSE results.
I went to Warblington School and there was no-one on reception to greet me and the pupils only had a 2 hour window of opportunity to get their results between 9 - 11am - so they had to wait for the postman! The staff refused to comment on the results.
I also went to Staunton Park Community School in West Leigh and the reception area was being decorated so there wasn't anyone who could help me - I'm sure the school also did very well in The GCSEs.
Next step for our bright school leavers is either going to study in further education at Havant College or Southdowns College or getting a job or apprenticeship.
To get some help and advice
A good place to visit would be Connexions

You could also try the Job Centre Plus
Their Address is 2, Elmleigh Rd, Havant, Hampshire PO9 2AR.
The staff there will help you and give you advice in your search for a suitable job.
Well Done to all our young people!
Did your child get their results? Let us know how they got on!

We would love to hear from you!
Comments
Why don't you visit them? Most are happy to let you have a walk round and I did just that when looking for a school for my son. You will get a feeling which one is right by the way you are treated!

ReportHave to say - the standard that Park Community manage to acheive is pretty incredible seeing as its slap bang in the middle of a council estate! well done to all the kids that did well there and the staff. I expect Warblington did well too.
I Hope to read all the results when published and compare the schools.

ReportSuch a shame you couldn't get any results from the other two schools.
Some people are really unhelpful! well dont to park Community School - they work hard to help children be successful and do a great job. It's largely thanks to the superb staff that work there.
