The latest news from our new Coalition Government is that all the building plans put in place from the previous Labour Government and Ed Balls, labours last schools Secretary, have now been stopped and will be eventually scrapped as the government want to save money. The move will save 3.5bn but will inevitably cause problem in the long term as some of our local schools are in a bad state of disrepair and could do with modernisation.

The schools affected in our area are:

Park Community School

Prospect

Rachel Madocks

Glenwood

The Hayling College

Warblington School

Woodlands Education Centre

This may be an awful decision, but the govenment need to make harsh cuts to lift our country out of the debt that were are in. I would like to think that when we have the money, our schools will be first on the spending list.

That is truly awful! I hope they reconsider as some of the schools need updating
    Warblington is particulary awful!
