Where to report abandoned dogs in Havant this Christmas

A dog is for life, not just for Christmas - This Slogan was created by Clarissa Baldwin, Dog's Trust UK Chief Executive, in 1978 but is still as relevant today.

Every year thousands of children plead for puppies as christmas presents but unfortunately the novelty in many cases wears off pretty quickly as owning a dog requires a lot of effort which they are not prepared to give.

Havant Borough Council have seen an increase in abandoned dogs being taken into the council's kennels this year and want to remind people to think twice before buying a dog as a gift this Christmas. Many dogs get abandoned after the festivities are over and the realisation dawns of how much work, time and expense is involved in looking after a pup. The Staffordshire Bull terrier is the most abandoned dog and most charities can no longer take on these bull breeds.

So please think before you are tempted to buy, unless you are really sure you can deal with raising a new member of the family.
