Work will soon be completed on the Havant Civic Offices after a major revamp - the first phase of a 'Public Service Village' for Havant.
-
New look Civic Offices Building.
-
Modern and state-of-the-art.
The building is having more than £13m being spent on it to make it more spacious and modern. It will be a hub now for many organisations in Havant including Citizen's Advice Bureau, Connexions, Havant and East Hants Learning Disability Service and Havant Council of Community Service, along with Hampshire and Havant councillors and staff.
There will be a new look atrium and will be newly refurbished to a high standard.
Now Havant Borough Council in partnership with The News is looking for a new name for the building and would like your opinion.
You can vote now from today up until the 27th May for the name you think best suits the new look building.
There is a choice of names you can vote for:
1, (The) Agora – originating from the Greek word for 'market place' The building aims to be a place where you can have access to many types of services - a market for the community.
2, (The) Beehive – the building will be host to lots of community services and will be buzzing with busy people willing to provide great help, service and advice.
3, Public Service Plaza - similar to public service village but more contained like a town square containing all the services you need and expect from the council.
4, Waterhaven – A name with references to Havant and Waterlooville and a nod to the streams and wells that provided water to Havant's historic parchment making industry. A safe and secure environment for the community.
If you like one of these names and think it would suit the new building please vote!

I would vote for 'The Agora'. I like the Greek routes and it just sounds original!

ReportI would choose Waterhaven. Although, It doesn't sound as official as Havant Civic Offices and that may confuse people. I'm looking forward to actually going in there and seeing the improvements when it's all finished.

ReportHaha I would have to agree with you about 'The Agora', Will40 I'll have a Korma and Nann bread please. The Beehive reminds me of the old pub in Paulsgrove, as for 'Public Service Plaza' sounds like an afterthought in my opinion its a lazy name. That leaves me with Waterhaven, best of a bad bunch?. What was wrong with Havant Civic Office; as for paying to vote, they have to get there money back in anyway possible.

ReportWhy would you PAY to vote when it's free online? Also I think 'The Agora' sounds like an Indian restaurant!
