If you have small kids you have probably already heard this Christmas Eve trick. When my son was not a sulking, hulking great teenager, we used to make "magic reindeer dust" by mixing up some glitter, tiny coloured foil stars and porridge oats - and let him scatter them on the doorstep to make sure Rudolf spotted the house. Of course you have to hope it doesn't rain or you'll have one heck of a mess to clean up in the morning! :D
